Manama, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, chaired the first meeting of the National Committee on the Prohibition of Weapons of Mass Destruction in 2024.
The minister praised the kingdom’s developments on various levels concerned with the committee’s mandate and the efforts made by the members.
Dr. Al Zayani commended the progress made in the work of the National Committee and the positive results that were achieved.
The minister emphasised the importance of developing competencies and equipping national human skills to combat weapons of mass destruction, with a focus on increasing the number of specialised technical projects submitted by the International Atomic Energy Agency for 2024.
During the meeting, the annual report for 2023 was also presented and the committee’s work guide was approved.
