Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs participated in the joint ministerial meeting between the Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the United States of America, on sidelines of the seventy-eighth session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The GCC delegation was headed by Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman and Chairman of the current session of the Ministerial Council, and the American side was headed by Anthony Blinken, the Secretary of State, in the presence of Jassim Mohamed Al Budaiwi, the Secretary General of the Council.

The meeting discussed ways to further develop cooperation between GCC countries and the US in various domains.

The ministers also reviewed the latest regional and international developments, and ways to intensify cooperation to confront challenges that threaten regional and global security.

The two parties affirmed their further strengthen ties in all fields and develop a collective approach to regional issues.
