Foreign Affairs Minister attends Joint Ministerial Meeting of the GCC-US Strategic Partnership

Riyadh, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the Joint Ministerial Meeting of the GCC-US Strategic Partnership.

The meeting was co-chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and Chairman of the current session of the GCC Ministerial Council, and Anthony Blinken, the Secretary of State.

The meeting was attended by Jassim Mohammed Albudaiwi, the Secretary General of the GCC.

Speaking at the meeting, the minister underscored the importance of the GCC-US partnership for the region in light of ongoing conflicts and risks of escalation.

He emphasised the importance of continuing joint work and coordination between the two sides, underlining the impact of this cooperation on maintaining the stability of the region and reducing regional tensions and promoting dialogue to ensure the rights of all parties.

Dr. Al Zayani said that there the main focus must be the situation in Gaza and
the need to resolve the dire humanitarian crisis persisting for over six months.

He stressed that the situation in Gaza required a credible and actionable framework for the post-war phase, and a roadmap that ensures peace, security, and stability for Palestine and the region.

The meeting discussed aspects of the strategic partnership between the two sides and exchanged views on the current situation in the region and its repercussions on regional security and stability.
