First Deputy Speaker urges parliamentary support for HM King’s efforts to promote human coexistence, fraternity

First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, MP Abdulnabi Salman, has stressed the importance of parliamentary support for His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s efforts aimed at promoting human coexistence and fraternity, recalling the call made by HM the King to approve an international agreement to criminalise religious, sectarian and racist hate speech in all its forms during the opening ceremony of the 146th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, hosted by Bahrain in March this year.

The call adds to HM King Hamad’s pioneering initiatives and steps that reflect the royal sound approach that confirms the importance of belief in the culture of difference and respect for the other.

The First Deputy Speaker made the statements while chairing the coordination meeting of the kingdom’s parliamentary delegation to the Parliamentary Conference on Interfaith Dialogue: “Working Together for Our Common Future”, which will take place in Marrakesh, Morocco, from 13 to 15 June.
