Baku: A fire broke out on Thursday at the only oil refinery for crude oil in Baku, Azerbaijan. The incident occurred in the Nizami district, prompting a swift response from fire protection forces who have been deployed to the area.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Azerbaijani state news agency (AZERTAC) reported that firefighting teams are actively working to control the blaze. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.

The refinery, a significant facility in the region, processes approximately 7.5 million metric tons of oil annually. This is equivalent to about 120,000 barrels per day, marking its importance in the energy sector.
