Expo Stars League: Al Sadd, Umm Salal Coaches Speak to the Media ahead of Week 1 Clash

Al Sadd coach Bruno Miguel spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 1 match against Umm Salal.

“I am happy to be here at Al Sadd at the start of the new season and Im equally happy with the clubs system as well as all the players on the team.

“We start this week against Umm Salal and we expect a difficult match, especially since everything is new at the beginning of the season. But we will definitely be ready and our goal is to win the match.

“As a coach, I naturally wish I had more time to prepare the team, but we know that our task is to work with the time we have. The King Salman Club Cup was a good opportunity for competition and it helped us prepare for the season. I think we will be fully prepared for the first match.

“Our fans will see a very competitive team that will always try to be better than the opponent. We believe that this mentality increases our chances of winning. I am confident in our ability to win the title, and this is what the club asks of us, and we are here for this task,” said Miguel.

Al Sadd player Ahmed Sayyar said, It will be a difficult match, especially as it is our first match of the season in the Expo Stars League. We are in full readiness, especially after participating in the King Salman Club Cup, and our goal is to earn the first three points.” For his part, Umm Salal coach Patrice Carteron said, “I wish success and brilliance in a difficult season, and that we appear well and strong. Our preparation for the new season was done well at the overseas camp in Turkey and the team benefited from friendly matches and the good preparation which witnessed great discipline and the desire of the players to be fully prepared before the start of the season.

“We have been following the Al Sadd team through their matches at the King Salman Club Cup recently and we know very well that they are one of the big and strong teams. Hence, we will enter Fridays match with strength and respect for the opponents. We have a lot of good players and we will play without any pressure in order to do our best. We need to be fully focused,” said Carteron.

Umm Salal player Dutchman Kenji Gorre said, “Al Sadd will be very strong and difficult at the same time, but Umm Salal have prepared for the league strongly and all our players are ready for the big opening meeting. The players are also excited to achieve the desired goal.”
