Addis Ababa:Eritrea: Eritrea has announced the termination of all diplomatic relations with neighboring Ethiopia following a significant increase in tensions between the two countries.

According to Qatar News Agency, Eritrea's Foreign Ministry revealed that the decision was a reaction to Ethiopia's earlier actions against Eritrean diplomats. On the same day, Ethiopia expelled 10 Eritrean diplomats from Addis Ababa, declaring them persona non grata and demanding their departure within 48 hours.

Ethiopia's Foreign Ministry claimed the diplomats posed a "direct threat" to national security and had violated the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. Additionally, Ethiopia announced the closure of its embassy in Eritrea's capital, Asmara, citing these actions as a response to Eritrea's "direct and indirect hostile and warlike acts" against Ethiopia.

In response, Eritrea stated that it was compelled to reciprocate by cutting diplomatic ties with Ethiopia.
