Egyptian PM affirms support for upcoming Arab Summit in Bahrain

Cairo, His Excellency Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, met with Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, Bahraini Ambassador to Egypt, attended the meeting.

The Egyptian PM, Dr. Madbouly, reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for Bahrain’s efforts to host the 33rd Arab Summit, scheduled for May 2024. He emphasised Cairo’s keenness to closely coordinate with Manama regarding the summit’s outcomes.

Dr. Madbouly commended the development in the relations between the two countries, highlighting the recent diplomatic exchange between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, who met in Cairo on April 18.

Reiterating Egypt’s steadfast stance on regional crises, Dr. Madbouly emphasised the urgent need for an immediate and permanent cessation of hostilities alongside an increase in humanitarian aid access.

Touching upon Egypt’s comprehensive de
velopment initiatives, notably the establishment of the New Administrative Capital, the Prime Minister said this transformative progress stands as a testament to the capabilities of Egyptian people and the continuous support of the government and President El Sisi.

For his part, Speaker Al Musallam affirmed the historical relations and distinguished ties between His Majesty the King and the Egyptian President, noting the governmental coordination bolstered by the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain.

Reflecting on his visit to Egypt, Al Musallam lauded the development witnessed by Egypt and the progress in completing the New Administrative Capital.
