Doha: Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, engaged in a phone conversation with his Japanese counterpart, Takeshi Iwaya, to discuss ongoing efforts aimed at securing a ceasefire deal in Gaza and addressing the escalation and aggression against the Palestinian people.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ministers also focused on the Arab plan for Gaza’s reconstruction and the upcoming conference in Cairo dedicated to this cause. Iwaya expressed hopes for the resumption of negotiations and emphasized Japan’s commitment to facilitating humanitarian aid access to the Palestinian people. He highlighted Japan’s determination to continue medical evacuations for wounded Palestinians and to work with all involved parties to achieve regional security and stability.
Additionally, both ministers explored avenues for enhancing bilateral ties, confirming their commitment to strengthening relations in various areas. They also discussed participation in the strategic dialogue between the two countries, set to occur in June 2025.
