Egypt: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping have called for efforts to contain regional tensions and protect the security of Gulf states during talks in Cairo. President Sisi met President Xi, who is visiting Egypt, to discuss regional and international issues of mutual concern.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian president emphasized the need to reduce tensions and respect the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of the Gulf Cooperation Council states and Jordan. He also underscored the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation and preventing civilians from suffering the consequences of the regional crisis.

On the Palestinian issue, El-Sisi highlighted Egypt's efforts to advance the implementation of the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and stressed the necessity of ensuring sufficient humanitarian aid reaches the territory. Xi expressed China's interest in strengthening coordination with Egypt at international forums and on regional and international issues of mutual concern. He noted that greater cooperation between the two countries could contribute to regional security and development and support the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
