An earthquake measuring 4.8 magnitude on the Richter scale hit the Tarapaca region in northern Chile on Sunday.
The epicenter of the earthquake occurred 51 from the town of Camina, at a depth of 100.1 km, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
There have been no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake so far.
Chile is located along the Ring of Fire where many earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur.
In 2010, a massive 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck central Chile, killing at least 500 people and triggering a tsunami.
