Doha:The dollar remained near its strongest level in two months on Wednesday as markets considered potential interest rate hikes in the near future.
According to Qatar News Agency, the euro was trading at $1.1446 in early sessions, hovering near its weakest point since late July. The British pound stood at $1.3337.
The dollar index, which tracks the US dollar against six major currencies, was at 100.56. Meanwhile, the Japanese yen traded at 157.55 per US dollar, with traders cautious about possible intervention following the Bank of Japan's recent rate hike to a 31-year high, which was perceived as not aggressive enough.
