Director General of International Cooperation receives UN Resident Coordinator in Bahrain

Manama, Fatima Abdullah Al Dhaen, Director General of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received Khaled El Mekwad, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Bahrain.

The meeting reviewed the updates on cooperation and strategic partnership between the two sides in various developmental fields to strengthen strategic cooperation for sustainable development between the Foreign Ministry and 20 UN agencies.

Director Al Dhaen commended the visit of António Guterres, the UN Secretary General, to participate in the 33rd Arab Summit, which affirmed the UN’s role in finding solutions and defending causes that call for justice regionally and internationally.

El Mekwad praised the success of the Bahrain Summit and hailed the efforts of the government in hosting the summit.

He expressed his aspirations to promote the UN’s role in contributing to solving Arab issues and participating in the development process for the sustainable development goals of 2030.
