Doha – HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met Saturday with a delegation of the Afghan caretaker government headed by HE Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Khan Muttaqi, who is visiting the country.
During the meeting, they reviewed cooperation relations between the two countries and issues related to combating terrorism, promoting human rights, and humanitarian aid.
The two sides stressed the importance of humanitarian aid reaching the deserving Afghan people, especially with the approach of winter.
During the meeting, HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs underlined the importance of ensuring the continuity of schools in Afghanistan and the need to provide educational opportunities for all segments of Afghan society, especially girls.
HE the Foreign Minister reiterated Qatar’s commitment to continue working with the Afghan parties and international partners to promote stability in Afghanistan.
The caretaker government delegation expressed thanks and appreciation to the State of Qatar for its constructive role in Afghanistan at the humanitarian and diplomatic levels and its continuous support for the Afghan people to achieve security and stability in Afghanistan.
