Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Holds Phone Call with Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani held a phone call on Thursday with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba.

During the phone call, they reviewed the latest developments in the ongoing crisis between Russia and Ukraine.

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed, during the call, Qatar’s deep concern over this escalation and its repercussions. His Excellency also stressed the need to ensure the safety of civilians and consider this a top priority in dealing with the crisis, and to avoid the aggravation of the humanitarian situation, which requires urgent concerted efforts to reach a peaceful solution.

His Excellency also affirmed the State of Qatar’s keenness on the United Nations Charter and the well-established principles of international law, including the obligations under the Charter to settle international disputes by peaceful means, refrain from the threat or use of force, and adhere to the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of States.
