Daraa production of pistachios, figs and walnuts estimated 194 tons

The Directorate of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform in Daraa estimated the province production of pistachios, figs, and walnuts at about 194 tons.

Head of plant production department in the directorate, Eng. Wael al-Ahmad, told SANA reporter that the area cultivated with pistachios is 760 dunums, with 2,390 trees, of which 1,940 trees bear fruit, producing about 9 tons annually.

Al-Ahmad pointed out that there are about 17,714 fig trees planted in the governorate within an area of 700 dunums, and their annual production is estimated at about 130 tons.

He added that the area cultivated with walnuts is 210 dunams, including 2,100 trees, all of which are in the process of bearing fruit, producing 55 tons annually.
