The Directorate of Agriculture of the province of Daraa, in southern Syria, estimated tomato production for the current season at around 312,000 tons.
Head of the Vegetable Production Department of the aforementioned Directorate, Wael Al-Ahmad, said that the area planted with tomatoes in the southern province amounts to 2,600 hectares.
Daraa is the province with the highest tomato production in Syria, and covers the needs of the province and others in the country.
