Customs Affairs President Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa today visited the Directorate of Seaports Customs and inspected the implementation of programmes and use of hi-tech equipment which supports economic development and contributes to spurring growth.

The Custom Affairs chief conveyed thanks from the Minister of Interior General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa to all the directorate staff, commending their role in facilitating the transit of logistics, goods and passenger traffic

He also praised their alertness which enabled them to thwart the smuggling of narcotic substances, whose value was estimated at about BD700,000.
