COLLEGE OF PHARMACY WELCOMES ITS NEW GENERAL PHARMACY STUDENTS AND PROFESSIONAL YEAR ONE STUDENTS FOR FALL 2022

The College of Pharmacy (CPH), Qatar University (QU) held it’s on campus and online orientations for General Pharmacy and First year students for the academic year 2022.

 

As College of Pharmacy starts the semester, it is important to familiarize students with the processes, tools, expectations as well as campus community. The success of learners not only depends on their in-class excellence but also on their ability to transition smoothly into their first year of college. The event featured sessions on introducing students to the College policies, an overview of the curriculum, introducing CPH administrative and faculty members, learning how to conquer their first year of College and ended up with fun interactive activities as well as a gardening ceremony.

 

Prof. Feras Alali, Dean, CPH greeted everyone saying, “On behalf of the College of Pharmacy, I am pleased to welcome all students to the College annual orientation event for the academic year 2022. As the Country’s only and leading College of Pharmacy, the College is recognized for its exceptional and high caliber academics, advanced curriculums, modern resources and cutting-edge equipment and facilities leading to student’s success. We strive to make your experience studying in the College of Pharmacy a smooth and rich one leading you to become a competent pharmacist ready to advance the field of pharmacy practice and health care. Welcome to a 5 year life changing experience and on behalf of the College of Pharmacy, I wish you the best of luck”

 

Dr. Muna Al-Ismail, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs also threw in welcoming remarks saying, “I would like to congratulate all our new pharmacy students and welcome them to the CPH family whether they are in foundation, general pharmacy year, or first professional year in the pharmacy major. The CPH is committed to provide its students with the best learning experience and strives to inspire them as they embark on their future roles as pharmacists, therefore, I would like to encourage all our students to make the best out of their journey at the college that will be full of new opportunities, growing, and learning.”

 

Ms. Mouda Hamdan (Professional Year 1 Pharmacy Student) expressed her excitement in joining the College saying “I and on behalf of my classmates, had a great pleasure attending the College of Pharmacy Orientation. Experiencing some of the pharmacist’s skills while utilizing our skills to do the prepared activities was substantial and gave us a sense of a promising future awaiting us. We got the chance to learn more about the Pharmacy Profession and our 5-year study in the College. Moreover, we were oriented about the College resources, student lives and the various activities awaiting us besides our academic life. We believe that our experience here in the College of Pharmacy is one to look for and we are excited for the new experiences and opportunities coming our way.”

 

Moreover, Mr. Walid Kouidri (Professional Year 1 Pharmacy Student) said a few words about the event “As a male pharmacist to-be, it is an absolute pleasure to be able to study under the first and leading College of Pharmacy in the region. Attending the orientation event gave us an insight of the promising future awaiting us in the College; it also gave us a chance to mingle with the College staff getting to know more about the College family, the student activities as well as the College assets. Many thanks for the fruitful day that made us excited to start our academic journey eager to graduate as competent pharmacists ready to innovate and excel in the pharmacy profession.”

The event concluded smoothly with students participating in various lively activities, mingling among their colleagues as well as faculty and staff and above all ready to start their exciting academic journey at the College of Pharmacy.
