Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping met with HE Prime Minister of Canada, who is currently visiting Beijing. Both sides discussed ways to enhance the partnership between the two countries and advance bilateral relations.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Chinese President noted that the previous meeting between the two leaders in October was positive for ties. He added that, since then, both sides held meetings over how to restart cooperation in various fields.

He emphasized that stable and healthy ties between China and Canada are in the interest of both countries and help bolster regional and international peace and prosperity. He stated that China was ready to cooperate with Canada within the framework of the G-20 and the United Nations to address global challenges.
