CBK Issues Treasury Bills and Public Debt Tawarruq Worth KWD 550 Million

Kuwait city: The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) announced the issuance of Treasury bills and public debt tawarruq, totaling KWD 550 million (approximately USD 1.8 billion), spread across four different issuances based on maturity, value, and yield.

According to Qatar News Agency, the bank's statement on Wednesday detailed that the first issuance was valued at KWD 150 million (approximately USD 495 million) with a two-year term. This issuance was conducted through a uniform competitive auction with a yield of 2.750%. The coverage ratio for this issuance reached 3.47 times, with total bids submitted amounting to KWD 520.2 million.

The statement continued to specify that the second issuance totaled KWD 250 million (approximately USD 825 million) for a three-year term, also through a uniform competitive auction, achieving a yield of 2.700%. The coverage ratio for this issuance was 2.96 times, with the total bids submitted reaching KWD 739 million.

For the third issuance, the CBK allocated KWD 100 million (approximately USD 330 million) for a five-year term, with a yield of 3.250%. This issuance achieved a coverage ratio of 3.06 times, with total bids amounting to KWD 305.5 million.

Finally, the fourth issuance was valued at KWD 50 million (approximately USD 165 million) for a seven-year term. Conducted through a uniform competitive auction, it carried a yield of 3.125%, with a coverage ratio of 3.80 times and total bids submitted reaching KWD 190 million.
