Capital Governor Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa stressed the importance of coordination and cooperation between all concerned government authorities to curb illegal street vendors in a way that contributes to protecting public health and the community environment.
He highlighted that during a meeting to discuss the issue of street vendors in a number of areas in the districts, in the presence of various concerned officials.
He stressed the importance of intensifying inspection and monitoring campaigns to tackle the issue of legal workers and take the necessary legal measures.
The attendees also reviewed the monitoring and inspection mechanism and the measures taken against illegal workers and discussed the regulatory and legal proposals that aim to strengthen the monitoring process for the purpose of research and study.
