The Qatari beach handball team secured two consecutive victories today, overcoming Australia and Tunisia, in the placement matches of the ongoing Beach Handball World Championship on Pingtan Island, China.
The Qatari team triumphed over Australia with a 2-0 score in the matches determining the 9th to 16th positions. They then edged past Tunisia with a 2-1 victory in the matches determining the 9th to 12th positions. Team Qatar are scheduled to face Uruguay tomorrow, Sunday, in the match for the 9th and 10th places in the tournament.
Earlier, Qatar advanced to the main round after finishing third in Group D of the preliminary round, earning two points from a 2-0 victory against Uruguay, despite losing to the USA (1-2) and Germany (0-2).
In the main round, Qatar faced three losses: against Croatia (0-2), Argentina (1-2), and Portugal (1-2).
