Bahraini-Qatari Follow-up Committee holds first meeting

Riyadh, The Bahraini-Qatari Follow-up Committee held its first meeting on Monday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Riyadh.

 

The Bahraini delegation was headed by the Undersecretary for Political Affairs Shaikh Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and the Qatari delegation was headed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Secretary General Dr. Ahmed Hassan Al Hammadi.

 

The two delegations stressed that the step was an embodiment of the directives of the leaderships of the two countries and their keenness to preserve the GCC future and entity and to build on its achievements.

 

The meeting reviewed the necessary measures and required mechanisms to ensure the success of the bilateral discussions to end the pending issues between the two countries in compliance with Al Ula statement issued at the GCC summit in Al Ula in a way that achieves the aspirations of the peoples of the two countries for security, stability and prosperity.

 

The delegations agreed to hold periodic and continuous meetings to achieve the set goals.
