Manama, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour, received an Omani delegation led by Suleiman bin Mohammed Al Hinai, Director of the Social Insurance Directorate at the Social Protection Fund.
The delegations included representatives from the Ministry of Labour, the Social Protection Fund, and the Vision Oman 2040 Follow-up Unit.
The visit comes within the framework of the MoU between the labour ministries of Bahrain and Oman, aimed at enhancing cooperation in labour and human resources development.
The Omani delegation will spend two days in Bahrain to study the Kingdom’s experiences in unemployment insurance, labour market analysis, and initiatives for developing the labour market and preparing national competencies.
The delegation reviewed the tools for measuring labour market indicators, which are according to international standards in collaboration with entities such as the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO), and the Labour Market Regula
tory Authority (LMRA).
Additionally, the delegation was briefed on the unemployment insurance system and support for job seekers or those dismissed without legal cause. They learned about training and qualification programmes for citizens, such as the “Tamheed” programme with the Labour Fund “Tamkeen”, the “Daman” programme, and the “Furas” programme.
The Omani delegation praised Bahrain’s efforts in preparing national competencies and developing human resources, as well as the benefits provided to integrate job seekers into the labour market. They also commended Bahrain’s social protection system, particularly the unemployment insurance system and the training opportunities offered by the Ministry of Labour.
