Bahrain calls for avoiding military escalation on Lebanese-Israeli border

Manama, At the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and in line with Bahrain’s presidency of the 33rd Arab Summit, the Kingdom of Bahrain is closely following the recent developments and the military escalation on the Lebanese-Israeli border with great concern.

Within the framework of coordination with the Republic of Lebanon, Bahrain emphasised that it is imperative to avoid military escalation and prevent the expansion of conflict in the region, a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. The statement added that this aims to preserve Lebanon’s security and comes within the framework of endeavours to achieve security, peace, and stability in the region’.

Bahrain called for an immediate ceasefire between the two sides and urged both parties to implement UN Security Council Resolution No. 1701 through peaceful negotiations. This approach aims to protect civilian lives and ensure regional security and stability. Bahrain also expressed support for the de-escalation efforts l
ed by the American and French envoys to Lebanon.

Furthermore, Bahrain urged the UN Security Council to intervene urgently and address the military clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border. The Kingdom also called for an immediate ceasefire decision to contain the conflict, considering its serious repurcussions implications for regional and international security and stability.
