Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs to QNA: New Strategy Establishes Comprehensive Approach to Improving Education Quality

Doha: Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) Maha Al Ruwaili emphasized that the ministry will adopt, through the launch of its new strategy, a comprehensive and integrated approach to improving the quality of education in the State of Qatar and expanding access to it, with a focus on ensuring sustainability and innovation in its educational system.

In her remarks to Qatar News Agency on Monday, Al Ruwaili described the strategy as ambitious, saying that it includes 14 goals to improve the quality of education and 24 strategic programs within four axes related to the different stages of education, starting from pre-primary education and education from the first to the twelfth grade, then post-secondary education and continuing education, while the fifth axis focuses on supporting the education system through a set of its enablers.

She pointed out that the educational system’s capabilities include strategic programs aimed at preparing nation
al cadres, attracting and retaining distinguished talents, improving the overall governance of the education system, disseminating data, and strengthening local and international partnerships. She indicated that stimulating investment in the field of education, in addition to using resources efficiently to achieve high-quality results are among the things targeted by these programs.

Al Ruwaili noted that the ministry’s strategy 2024-2030 will contribute to developing the education system in Qatar through the strategic programs it includes, which in turn contribute to achieving several matters, including providing equal educational opportunities for all students in these grades, developing their cognitive abilities and skills in line with future requirements, enhancing curricula and aligning learning resources and methodologies with the skills and knowledge required to be mastered, upgrading academic and vocational guidance methodologies, including smooth educational paths for all students, accelerating the p
aths of the gifted and providing them with the possibility of early planning for the higher education stage, as well as developing the school performance of government schools to raise the level of education outcomes for all grades by updating the school supervision model and increasing the competencies of school leadership to improve operations management through support plans dedicated to each school according to its needs, while ensuring the availability of high-quality expertise.

It will also contribute to the continuous professional development of teachers, which adopts the best international practices in training and empowerment, empowering the e-learning system, and developing the digital skills of students and teachers.

Al Ruwaili noted the importance of the strategy for partners in the educational and pedagogical process, and summarized it in cooperation with the local community, as it works, in this regard, to enhance cooperation with parents and the local community to support the educational proc
ess.

Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the MOEHE considered the MOEHE’s educational strategy 2024-2030, with its slogan “Igniting the Spark of Learning,” an essential element in achieving Qatar National Vision 2030 and the goals of the Third National Development Strategy. At the same time, it constitutes a roadmap toward achieving the goals of the human development pillar.
