Doha: Secretary-General of the Kuwaiti and Arab Shooting Federations, Obaid Manahi Al Osaimi, praised Qatar’s outstanding organization of the Asian Shotgun Championship (Doha 2026) and the successful preparations that created an ideal environment for the launch of strong and exciting competitions at the highest levels.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al Osaimi stated that the high-quality organization positively impacted the exceptional technical standard witnessed during the championship, reaching the level of setting new Asian and world records, achieved by an elite group of champions. He expressed his great pleasure at being present at the world-class sporting venue, the Lusail Shooting Range.
Al Osaimi noted that the finals of the men’s and women’s individual skeet events were highly competitive among the shooters as they vied for the top three positions.
The Secretary-General commended the achievements of Kuwaiti shooters in the skeet events, with shooter Mohammed Al Deehani winning the gold medal in
the men’s individual competition and securing the silver medal in the men’s team skeet event today, while the youth team won bronze yesterday.
He expressed his hope that Kuwaiti shooters would continue to achieve success and raise their country’s flag at various international forums.
Regarding Qatari participation in the championship and the achievements recorded yesterday and today, Al Osaimi extended his congratulations to the Qatari shooters for their performances and to the Qatar Shooting Federation.
He noted that Qatari shooters won one gold and two silver medals in the men’s, women’s, and team competitions today, and achieved one gold medal, one silver medal, and a new Asian and world record yesterday in the youth category.
He made special mention of Qatari shooter Mutab Al Marri, whom he described as a champion for setting a new world record, and wished him and all participating shooters continued success.
Al Osaimi concluded by emphasizing that such continental championships contribute significan
tly to the development of shooting sports at both the regional and continental levels and serve as a strong incentive for athletes to strive for excellence.
