Arab League Denounces Israeli Settlement Plans in Gaza

Doha: The Arab League has condemned Israeli occupation defense minister's remarks on plans to establish settlements in the northern Gaza Strip, describing them as evidence of an intention to reoccupy parts of the territory.

According to Qatar News Agency, Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy issued a statement on Tuesday, asserting that the reported comments reflect "the Israeli right's true plan to reoccupy Gaza, or parts of it." Fahmy emphasized that such actions would directly contradict a peace plan proposed last year, as well as UN Security Council Resolution 2803, adopted in November 2025.

Fahmy urged the international community and the UN Security Council to oppose what he described as "extremist right-wing" policies aimed at entrenching Israel's occupation. He further added that the Israeli government is under the full influence of the settler movement.
