Gaza – Ma’an – Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, announced on Saturday that it had carried out a “complex ambush” targeting Israeli soldiers, leaving them dead and wounded in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.
The Brigades said in a post on the Telegram platform: ‘On the morning of the day of Arafa, our mujahideen carried out a complex ambush against enemy vehicles penetrating the Saudi neighborhood area in Tal al-Sultan, west of the city of Rafah.’

It explained that upon the arrival of the rescue force, a “Nimr” troop carrier was targeted with a “Al-Yassin 105” missile, which led to its destruction and the killing of all its members, according to the statement.
In another statement, it said that it “bombed, in conjunction with the Al-Quds Brigades, the Sufa military site (south of Israel) with a missile salvo.”
Al-Qa
ssam also targeted the Israeli command headquarters in the Netzarim axis, west of Gaza, with short-range 114 mm ‘Rajum’ missiles, according to the statement.

On May 6, the Israeli army announced the start of a military operation in Rafah, ignoring international warnings about its repercussions on the lives of the displaced people in the city, and the next day it took control of the Rafah border crossing with Egypt.
