The relation with the Economic Unity Council, the reality of qualitative Arab federations, especially those in Syria were topics discussed by Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Mohammad Samer al-Khalil and the Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Economic Unity, Ambassador Mohamedi Ahmed al-Ni.
The two sides also discussed mechanisms for evaluating work and activities of Arab unions.
That was on the sidelines of participation in the meetings of the 112th session of the Arab Economic and Social Council in Cairo(ECOSOC).
Both sides reviewed the preparations made by the General Secretariat of the Council to hold an economic and investment conference in Syria during the first quarter of next year, as well as the meeting of specific unions, which will also be held in Damascus next February.
Al-Khalil stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation with the Council of Economic Unity according to better and more effective mechanisms in the coming period.
