The head of the Gas Stations Syndicate, Nizar Al-Jaabari, said that the gas stations are threatened with closure, in light of the fuel shortage following the reduction in supplies received from the Israeli side as a result of the Palestinian Ministry of Finance’s failure to pay the accumulated dues to the Israeli side, despite the gas stations’ commitment to do so.
Al-Jaabari explained that for about a week, there has been a severe shortage in the arrival of fuel to the Palestinian market, and the problem lies in the Ministry of Finance’s management of the fuel file, as we at the stations are committed to paying the full price of fuel.
An informed source told Ma’a that the quantity that will reach the Palestinian market next Sunday, estimated at about 3 million liters, will not meet the market’s needs, especially since we are approaching the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
The source pointed out that the Ministry of Finance, especially the new minister, is working hard to solve the shortage crisis, and is studying s
everal options, at a time when the government treasury is suffering from a financial deficit
