A solidarity march with Gaza begins from Istanbul towards Incirlik Military Base in southern Turkey

Istanbul - A march in solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people was launched this afternoon from the city of Istanbul, including hundreds of civilian vehicles towards the Incirlik base in southern Turkey, where dozens of American aircraft are present, along with American forces.

Many civil society organizations participated in the vehicles march organized by the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation under the slogan “Freedom Caravan for Palestine,” where the vehicles were decorated with Turkish and Palestinian flags as an expression of the fateful cohesion between the Turkish and Palestinian peoples.

The participants in the march chanted slogans against Israel and America, which is supporting it in its barbarism, and in support of the Palestinian residents of the Gaza Strip in their just struggle.

Before the start of the march, the head of the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation, Bulent Yildirim, gave a speech in which he said, “These military bases located on Turkish territory were created to exploit the world and demonstrate American imperial power at the expense of peoples’ freedom and aspirations.”

Yildirim added: “This march is not intended for Muslims, but rather between us Christians and Jews alongside Muslims, and among us we also include activists from the United States, Britain, Canada, Norway, Finland and other countries.”

Yildirim accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of being "the Hitler of his time," saying: "Netanyahu has effectively assumed the role of the second Hitler. What is Netanyahu doing? He kills and increases hatred. He is, in fact, like Hitler's servant and following in his footsteps."

For her part, American activist Wright said that she resigned from her position because of the American invasion of Iraq, and added: “I tried to go to Gaza several times, and I am sorry on behalf of my country for supporting Israel.”

After the speech ended, the “Freedom Caravan for Palestine,” consisting of cars decorated with the Turkish and Palestinian flags, set off for Incirlik Base.

It is planned that the convoy of 250 cars to support Gaza and the freedom of Palestine will arrive at Incirlik Base the day after tomorrow, Sunday, in a march that will stop in the states of Kocaeli, Ankara and Konya, and events will be organized at each stop.

It is noteworthy that the Incirlik base was the starting point for a number of military operations in the region, and it contains one of the longest airstrips in the world./ End
