Damascus, Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil in Damascus held on Tuesday evening a reception on occasion of the 202nd Independence Day of Braziland the 79th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Brazil and Syria at Golden Mazzeh Hotel in Damascus.
During the reception, Brazilian Ambassador André Santos, stressed that Brazil and Syria confront many challenges, underlining the necessity to unite their stances in all international forums to defend their sovereignty and the principles of UN Charter and international law.
In turn, Justice Minister in the caretaker government, Judge Ahmed al-Sayed, hailed the deep-rooted relations between the two friendly countries, stressing Syria willingness to uplift the level of these relations in various fields.
Minister al-Sayed also praised Brazil stance that support sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, the firm stance regarding the issue of occupied Syrian Golan and condemnation of the repeated Israeli aggression on Syrian
territory, thanking Brazilian Government for the humanitarian aid provided over the disastrous earthquake struck Syria last year.
The reception was attended by Secretary-General of the Presidency of Republic, Mansour Azzam, and Health Minister in the caretaker government, Dr. Hasan al-Ghabbash and other officials.
