Today, Friday, the occupation forces attacked young men while they were heading to Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform prayers in Al-Aqsa, and the young men performed the prayer on the thresholds of the mosque.

Ma’an Agency’s correspondent in Jerusalem explained that the forces stationed at Bab al-Asbat – the gate of the Old City – suddenly attacked young men during their arrival to Al-Aqsa, prevented their entry to Al-Aqsa, demanded that they return to their homes, placed iron barriers and barricades, and allowed the elderly to enter Al-Aqsa.

At Lions Gate – one of the gates of Al-Aqsa – the forces suddenly stopped the young men and prevented them from entering Al-Aqsa.

The worshipers explained that the influx to Al-Aqsa had been normal since the morning hours, and suddenly, several minutes before its scheduled time, the forces closed the vicinity of Lions Gate, prevented young men from entering, and assaulted them by beating them, for no reason, in ‘a procedure that has been followed since the beginning of the wa

The Islamic Endowments Department estimated the number of worshipers who performed Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa at approximately 50,000 worshipers.

The young men, who were prevented from entering Al-Aqsa, performed Friday prayers in the Bab al-Asbat area, on the road to the Yusufiya Cemetery, and inside the Bab al-Rahma cemetery.
