An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale struck on Sunday the Solomon Islands in the Pacific Ocean.
The US Geological Survey stated that the epicenter of the earthquake occurred 83.6 km west-east of Kirakira and at a depth of 101.6 km.
So far, there have been no reports of material damage or human losses due to the earthquake.
The Solomon Islands are located in an area of strong seismic activity.
