Santa Cruz:An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 on the Richter scale struck off the coast of Costa Rica.

According to Qatar News Agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported that the earthquake occurred 106 kilometers southwest of the city of Santa Cruz at a depth of 10 kilometers.

There have been no immediate reports of casualties or material damage from the earthquake. Costa Rica is situated within the Pacific "Ring of Fire," a region noted for its frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
