5.4 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Several Districts of Pakistan

A 5.4-magnitude earthquake on Saturday struck different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, northwestern Pakistan.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), said in a statement that the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 150 km in southeastern Afghanistan.

It pointed out that the residents felt the tremors in the areas of Batagram, Swat, Kurram and neighboring areas.

No loss of life, and property damages were reported in the areas so far.

Pakistan is exposed to violent seismic disturbances, as it was hit by a 7.6-magnitude earthquake in 2005, which killed thousands of people.
