5.0-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Northwest China

Beijing, A 5.0-magnitude earthquake hit Weili County, Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Tuesday.

The quake struck at a depth of 20 km, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

Currently, there are no immediate reports of casualties, according to local authorities.

China usually suffers from earthquakes and strong tremors, especially in the mountainous areas in the west of the country.
