An earthquake measuring 4 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Thursday Kahramanmaras city, south-central Turkiye.
A statement issued by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) explained that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 14.37 km.
There have been no reports of material damage or human losses as a result of the earthquake so far.
Last February, a massive earthquake struck southern Turkiye and northwestern Syria, and its epicenter was also in Kahramanmaras. The quake was followed by than 4,000 aftershocks, more than 40,000 people in Turkiye and about 6,000 people in Syria, to be the largest disaster of its kind in Turkiye’s history in 100 years.
