An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7 struck American state Alaska on Wednesday. US Geological Survey reported that the earthquake occurred 130 kilometers northwest of Adak Island, at a depth of 20.5 kilometers. Alaska is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, where friction of tectonic plates leads to strong seismic and volcanic activity.
