A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck Elaz?g, eastern Turkiye.
The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) stated in a statement today that the tremor occurred after midnight in the Sivrice area, at a depth of 11 km underground.
For its part, the state of Elaz?g confirmed that it had not received reports of damage as a result of the tremor.
It is noteworthy that a violent earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale struck southern Turkey and northern Syria on the sixth of last February, followed by another with a magnitude of 7.6, followed by thousands of violent aftershocks, which resulted in tens of thousands of victims, and caused massive damage and destruction to buildings and property in the two countries.
