An earthquake measuring 4.3 magnitude on the Richter scale hit the Santander department in northeastern Colombia on Sunday.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) said that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 5 km from the Jordan area in the Santander department at a depth of 154.4 km.
No human losses or material damage have been reported due to the earthquake so far, the US Geological Survey reported In 1999, Colombia was hit by a 6.1-magnitude earthquake that killed 1,185 people, left 700 others missing, injured at least 4,750 people, and displaced about 250,000 people. The city of Armenia was the most affected by the earthquake.
