Doha: The ministers of foreign affairs from 16 Arab and Islamic countries, including Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey, Pakistan, Indonesia, Djibouti, Somalia, Palestine, Oman, Sudan, Yemen, Lebanon, Mauritania, and Algeria, have condemned the recent actions of Somaliland. The region has opened a so-called "embassy" in Jerusalem, a move deemed illegal and unacceptable.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ministers have stated that this action is a flagrant violation of international law and relevant international resolutions. They have expressed that it directly infringes on the legal and historical status of occupied Jerusalem. The ministers have stressed their rejection of any unilateral measures that attempt to legitimize entities or arrangements contravening international law and United Nations resolutions.
The group has reiterated the position that East Jerusalem is occupied Palestinian territory since 1967, and any attempts to change its legal and historical status are considered null and void. They have also emphasized their support for Somalia's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, rejecting any claims of unilateral sovereignty.
