13th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues Kicks Off in Moscow

Moscow: The 13th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues commenced Tuesday in Moscow, Russia.

According to Qatar News Agency, attending this event, which is organized by the Russian Security Council (RSC), are a range of top-rung security decision-makers and technology experts, with the participation of 129 delegations representing 105 countries, including member states of BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Arab League, the African Union, and other leading international organizations.

The three-day sessions laser-focus on confronting transnational challenges, such as cybercrimes, in addition to protecting critical infrastructure from sabotaging attacks amid the rapid global race to impose new cybersecurity criteria.

The RSC has been organizing this meeting annually since 2010, with the objective of coordinating global efforts to combat terrorism, extremism, organized crime, and drug trafficking.

The event primarily intends to address emerging threats linked to technology and cyberspace, and for the first time, representatives of the new authorities in Kabul are participating, signaling a broad openness to various influential actors in global security affairs.
