100,000 Worshippers Perform Isha, Taraweeh Prayers at Al Aqsa Despite Occupation Restrictions

Jerusalem: Some 100,000 worshippers performed the Isha and Taraweeh prayers at the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Jerusalem.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem reported that around 100,000 worshippers managed to perform the prayers despite the restrictions and measures imposed by the Israeli occupation forces. These measures included preventing West Bank residents from accessing the mosque.

The Israeli occupation forces reportedly prevented thousands from reaching Al Aqsa Mosque, turning back worshippers at the Qalandiya checkpoint, north of occupied Jerusalem, as well as at the checkpoint separating Jerusalem and Bethlehem.

Additionally, the occupation forces have intensified military measures in and around Jerusalem, especially at the gates of the Al Aqsa Mosque. Over recent days, more than 300 Jerusalemites have received orders barring them from entering the mosque during the holy month of Ramadan.
